What in tarnations is a video game
Yeah. We make games.
Desolation Digital is a game studio built around a pretty simple belief: the best reason to make a game is wanting to play it.
The studio
Built for the games we could not find.
We are Noah and Logan Siler. We grew up playing games together, then started a studio so we could make the ones that we've always wanted to play ourselves.
Desolation Digital started with years of tinkering, abandoned projects, and two brothers asking each other, “Wouldn't it be cool if this was a game?” In 2021 we stopped treating that question like a hobby and began building the studio around it.
The studio gives us room to pursue our own ideas. We are not interested in the typical corpo bullshit, trend-chasing, or sanding an idea down until it is morally acceptable. Games should be fucking fun, right?
That freedom means we can take risks, have fun, and build things that would never leave a AAA studio. Not every idea works, but we would rather make something strange, memorable, and actually fun.

Why our own studio?
Why our own studio?
01 Make the game we want.
02 Let systems tell stories.
03 Have some fun with it.
04 Interact with our community.
These are not rules for making every game. They are how we recognize one of ours. A Desolation Digital game should feel authored, give the player room to experiment, and keep at least a few rough edges worth remembering.
What we stand for
A point of view, not a formula.
We are a small, independent studio with strong opinions about games. We prefer making games that are actually fun and unique.
-
01
Love the medium.
Games have shaped our lives. We care about how they feel, what they make possible, and why the good ones stay with people for years.
-
02
Respect the player.
We are sick and tired of seeing studios push out the same game every two years. Yeah, you probably know who we are talking about.
-
03
Choose identity over approval.
A sharp, peculiar idea will not be for everybody. That is fine. The parts that divide opinion are often the same parts that give a game its identity.
-
04
Stay independent in spirit.
Independence is more than team size. It is keeping the nerve to follow an idea because we believe in it, not because it is popular.
Released into the wild
One belief, made playable.
How To Grow a Black Hole was the first time all of that became a finished game with our name on it.
